Day 168 in the Age of Obama--and all is well on the Tennis front!

I have to say that I'm now so happy about yesterday's match, and after the incredible anticipation of waiting all day--it was SOOOOO worth it!

Congrats Roger Federer--you have surpassed all my expectations (purely as a fan and tennis lover--of course) and have shown all the doubting Thomases what you are truly made of!

Thank you for putting all you have into everything you do!

Can't wait until the US Open--Grands Slam #16?

Also-- thank you Andy Roddick--you played so extremely well--but it couldn't be!

Below is my post from yesterday--just because it was already written!

Day 167 in the Age of Obama—

And a different “Crankiness” once more!

This one is related to the semi-delicious/semi nauseating feeling of ignorance about today’s outcome of the most discussed TENNIS Match since the French open.

As anyone who reads my blog already knows—I’m a huge Federer fan—(who isn’t theses days?)—a feeling also shared by my son—who had to work today—therefore we couldn’t watch the match between Roger and Andy Roddick. He’s on his way home now and I can’t wait to see what has happened.

After a fantastic day yesterday—which I will go into shortly—I fell asleep while watching a movie—and thought I turned the TV off during the night.

However when a call of nature woke me at around 7am—the TV was on and the first set had already been played—(much to my horror -) and won by Andy!

The odds for Roger winning after losing the first set are very slender, and Andy has never played better as shown by the way he dispatched the other Andy—(Murray) and England’s hope for one day winning this much sought after and elusive title, last Friday in the semi finals.

So I threw myself into a day of rigorous exercise and work—and listening to CDs—since I really didn’t want to accidentally find out what happened next, and it seemed to work out –until now when I’m suddenly as nervous as a skinny black alley cat meeting a pig dog without a leash.

Although I have been talking myself into total acceptance of Andy Roddick finally winning a “big one” –since if nothing else—Roger has now won the French Open and therefore has a career grand slam, as well as 14 titles overall. I’m sure he will eventually win a few more, even if this one goes to Andy—and would be only his second “big’ one to add to his US Open win in 2003.

So let me quickly tell you about yesterday…but. no, my son just got home-- the wait is over…so I’ll tell it after the match!
