Obama's first official press conference !

What a refreshing change to have a president who can utter a few sentences in a row without any hick ups--or giving our comedians a year's worth of subject matter.
I guess watching him for just over an hour made me cheer up for a little while, what more could I want?

Watching and listening to him tonight made me aware of the deep set ambition this man has, and am beginning to understand his need for "bipartisanship'.

And I think that's good in so many ways, who after all in their right mind would want this kind of job, if it wasn't for the big picture down the road, the legacy and the achievement.

He's really serious about changing the tone, and he explained it again tonight!'
And for the first time I really understood him.
He really doesn't see us divided--the way we see each other, like he's told us a million times!--No he sees us the way I used to see America --before I lived here and experienced the everyday existence, for an ordinary person!
You know--America the home of the brave etc?
You know the leaders of the free world?

And when one interacts with people in the everyday world--we pretty much are as one--but we become divided so easily. By the media of course, but also because we're such a mixed bunch of volatile people with strong opinions. Of course it's to their advantage to point that out and to keep us divided. That way they can appeal to many different groups instead of just one mixed bunch of happy people.

So what will they do this time around--so far they love him--but even now the republicans still seem to get more attention from the MSM than he does. It's only been three weeks and most of them don't really know what to do with all the openness and intelligence coming from our prez.

So I guess he wants us to be happy, everyone able to live up to their own expectations, or at least live with that lovely dream.

It 's certainly an interesting time--scary as hell but fascinating too, and President Obama hasn't let me down yet--but then I guess I'm easy to please.

  1. It isn't that you are easy to please. This President is the real deal, a leader who actually wants to preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States, while making the country loved around the world once again. It is disgusting to hear that the media are up to their same old bullshit, but not all that surprising. But fuck em, Obama is the leader of the free world and he is going to use that power for good no matter what.

    Great post!
