Jimmy Fallon

I thoroughly enjoyed Jimmy Fallon's new show, even though he was obviously nervous at first. The little skit with Conan still there in his room, packing his belongings, seemed more real than funny--although it worked in the end--raising some laughs. Maybe it was just me --but it made miss Conan just a bit.

His band The Roots is very cool and his guests were great--how sweet to see Robert De Niro support a fellow New Yorker and Justin Timberlake is really good at impressions of other singers, and I especially enjoyed the encore of the Barry Gibbs duet with Jimmy.

I think Jimmy will do very well--and I wish him well --just because.

When Van Morrison sang a song from one of my all time favorite albums "Astral Weeks", it brought back some really good memories, on a day that began with extreme crankiness on my part. So it's fitting to go to bed with that music in my head.

Van is still a fantastic singer, with his voice hardly changed at all--if anything it's even smoother and more mellow now.

Thanks Jimmy!

All in all a great beginning for Jimmy and I'm sure he'll iron out the kinks as he goes along.
