Apparently this event originated in Australia in 2007 and participation has grown so much, that more than 4000 cities and towns across the world took part last night.
How cool is that? It just shows that we really are all so united when it counts, when we can put aside our personal and political points of view for just a little while and work together towards a common cause--like SURVIVAL!
People in a research station in Antarctica, in Egypt--around the Great Pyramids, the Empire State building in New York City and here in Seattle and the 'burbs'--everywhere we gave our message to the 'powers that be' to fight 'Global Warming' and the associated climate changes it brings.
So I'm proud of my Aussies and all the great folks who turned their lights off last night, and I say thanks to you all!
